The West Virginia School Board Association (WVSBA) Winter Conference agenda, which will be held Friday and Saturday includes sessions relating student mathematics performance, county board members’ roles and responsibilities, a study conducted by a Monongalia County Board of Education member and West Virginia University professor relating to the effects of the Opioid Crisis on students.

State Superintendent Steve Paine will provide the conference kick-off. Other presenters MetroNews Talkline host Hoppy Kercheval and Huntington Mayor Steve Williams who will address how communities, including educators and county boards, can collaborate in terms of the Opioid Crisis.

According to Conference Registrar Shirley Davidson, about 205persons are have registered for the Conference.

The association’s FY20 Annual Business Meeting will be held in conjunction with the meeting.
